"PENOBSCOT, an R-Class custom built sailing yacht with
her sleak lines and mint condition, remains a classic beauty.
Her class has been featured on the cover of sailing magazines
as one of the finest examples of the sailing racers of the
Gatsby era of the 1920's and 1930's.
Her classic teak decks, mahogany trim, Sitka spruce spars,
and bronze hardware conjures up the allure of an earlier time
when racing such sailing yachts was the hallmark of
a rich and luxurious life style.

PENOBSCOT was designed in 1923 by Charles R. Mower
and built by Hodgdon Brothers of Boothbay, Maine,
each respectively the leading U.S. sailboat designer and
boatyard of the time."
